Application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Satellite Technology in Urban Planning and Management: The Case of Hai Phong
Nội dung chính bài báo
Tóm tắt
Hai Phong - Viet Nam, as a major coastal economic hub, is experiencing rapid spatial growth alongside increasing pressures from land-use fragmentation, coastal erosion, and declining water quality. These challenges reveal limitations in traditional monitoring and planning systems and highlight the need for modern, evidence-based urban management tools. At the same time, recent progress in Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Earth Observation (EO) satellite technologies provides new opportunities to improve spatial analysis and environmental forecasting. However, Vietnam still lacks applied research models that integrate these technologies into urban governance, resulting in fragmented datasets and limited analytical capacity. This study addresses this gap by synthesizing international best practices, evaluating Hai Phong's current digital and environmental conditions, and proposing a scientific roadmap for developing a Predictive City model that leverages GenAI and EO to enhance planning efficiency and urban resilience.
