 Abstract

The Midland and Northern Mountainous Region of Vietnam is frequently exposed to natural hazards such as landslides, flash floods, soil erosion, and localized inundation. The assessment and identification of construction sites suitable for natural conditions play a vital role in ensuring the safety of local communities and promoting sustainable development. Land evaluation and site selection are mandatory components of the technical preparation process, conducted based on natural conditions. The outcomes of land evaluation provide a scientific foundation for planning and construction activities, thereby minimizing the adverse impacts of natural conditions on residential areas in the Midland and Northern Mountainous Region in the context of increasingly complex climate change.
